A drying cylinder adapted to receive steam therein includes a cylindrical cylinder jacket and two end covers. There is a flange connection between the jacket and the covers. The jacket has a rectangular cross-section flange. The covers have an L-shaped flange which receives the end flange of the cover. The covers are concave to the outside of the cylinder. The point of intersection of a curved line through the cover and of the axial center line of the axial arm of the cover flange lies at a distance from the outer face of the flange of the end cover that is at most about 60% of the axial length of the axial arm of that flange. The invention relates to steam-heated drying cylinders, and is primarily intended for use in paper machines of the pulp and paper industry. The purpose of the invention is to increase reliability in operation by ensuring the tightness of the flange connection in the drying cylinder. FIG. 1 shows a cylinder, a longitudinal section; in fig. 2 — node I in FIG. 1. The drying cylinder contains a heated cylindrical body 1 with end caps 2. Inside the body 1 there is a hollow shaft 3, which sits on the axis 4 of rotation. On the cylinder there is a dried paper tape 5, having a width P. The end caps 2 on the outer side of the cylinder have heat insulation 6 (Fig. 1). Case 1 has end flanges 7 of rectangular cross section, the length w of each of which in the axial direction is at least equal to its thickness |) in the radial direction (Fig. 2). On the inner surface of the housing 1, circumferential ribs 8 are provided to improve heat transfer. Each end cap 2 has a portion 9 that is curved toward the inner cavity of the cylinder, passing into the mounting flange 10. with L-shaped cross section. The flange 10 has an axial flange t1 oriented to the center of the cylinder and a radial flange 12. The length A of the axial flange 11 is at least as large as the length of the radial flange 12. The axial flange 11 has an elongation 13, which projects above the outer end surface 14 of the connecting flange 10. The curvature on the curved part 9 of the roof 2 and its position relative to the connecting flange 10 is determined by the axial line 15. The axial line 15 intersects the axial line 16 of the axial flange 11 at a point that lies at a certain distance X from the outside rtsovoy of surface 14. The distance X is a maximum of 60% of the axial length of the flange 11. A preferred value for X is in the range from 25 to 50% of the length D. The degree of bending is characterized by the angle tu, which is measured between the axial lines 15 and 16 at the point S. The angle U) is approximately 50 °. The angle depends on the ratio between the largest diameter of the cylinder body 1 and the smallest diameter of the hollow shaft 3. This ratio is approximately 3: 1. The device works as follows. The canvas paper 5 width P is fed to the drying cylinder. The web contacts the surface of the cylindrical body 1 heated by steam. During the contacting process, the web is dried. The proposed design has a high reliability in operation due to the tightness of the flange connection. The stresses in the cylinder body, even at extremely high heat flux densities, remain within acceptable limits. According to the invention, significantly higher temperatures are permissible for a cylinder cylinder than in a known construction. High temperatures also occur when, during use, superheated steam on the outside of the cylinder cylinder is designed to save energy in order to save energy, in order to avoid a non-flexible heat sink. The use of the proposed construction ensures the safe use of heat spraying on the roof when using superheated steam.

Claims (2) [1] 1. DRYING CYLINDER containing a steam-heated cylindrical body with end flanges of rectangular cross section, the length of each of which in the axial direction is at least equal to its thickness in the radial direction, and two end caps, each of which has a part curved towards the inside the cavity of the cylinder, passing into the connecting flange with an L-shaped cross-section, having an axial flange oriented to the center of the cylinder and a radial flange, and the length of the axial flange is at least that which is the same in size as the length of the radial flange, which is distinguished by the fact that, in order to increase operational reliability by ensuring the tightness of the flange connection, in the cross section of the connecting flange the distance from its outer end surface g to the intersection point of the middle lines ® of its axial flange and curved part is 25-60% of the length of the axial flange.
